Day 1: Beihai park

As if the flight would not have been tiring enough, and since it was about 10 in the morning, we decided to go to the forbidden city. However, on the way we went through Beihai Park, another attraction in Beijing. These are some photos from one of the entrances (the actual park is huge).

That man on the left was writing kanji symbols on the ground with water. It seemed to be a common practice because there were other people doing the same around the park. I have no idea what is it all about or what the text means.

As for the lion statue on the right, it seems to be really popular in Beijing (and probably all of China) because you can see it everywhere. The original lion statues are probably in the imperial palace (aka. forbidden city).
